Another extra inning game and another victory for the Ballard Beavers (4 for 4 this week!). We had some tough playing conditions with a very well worn turf infield and no turf cleats. What should have been our first run of the game turned into an injured starting player when Leslie Ellingsen came down hard at full speed coming in to home off a double by Trisha Perrin. With the final two league games next week and Ballard heading in to the playoffs, we just hope that the injury is not a serious one. On a positive note, I understand that the Umpire will be calling the league to tell them they feel the Bothell field is not safe for future games.

Alyssa Meyer pitched the full 9 innings and struck out 8 to keep us in the game until we finally pulled ahead in the top of the 9th. We had some fantastic defensive plays with Emily still keeping the baserunners nervous (and yes, she picked off another one), an unassisted double play by Hallie Hemmingsen to get us out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the 6th and an anything but standard catch shared by Kristen Huden & Trisha Perrin to end the game.

Way to go this week ladies - let's carry this through to next week and finish the regular season strong!
