COMMENTS FROM SECRET REPORTER: Another cool damp day at
Lower Woodland, but at least we got it in before the snow. If this is
global warming I'd hate to see an ice age!
Eastlake score 3 in the first and never looked back. Ballard had 3 hits
over the course of the day, but never more than 1 in any inning, so
pretty quiet. Catcher Nicole Murray had to depart the game about the
third inning due to a sore arm, and Tara French gamely pitched the
entire game because her relief, Sophie Overlock-Pauley was out with a
hip flexor strain.
The team is struggling to hit, field and make proper and accurate
throws... so needs work on many fronts. I don't sense a lack of
enthusiasm, but rather a lack of understanding about what each moment of
the game is about, and how they should be reacting instinctively to each
moment. If you have to think about it, your opportunity is gone.
